What's your favourite thing about your role at The Granary Estates?

My favourite thing about my role at The Granary is interacting and building a relationship with couples from the very first initial viewing to watching them become Mr & Mrs. I get excited with my couples when I can see their visions coming to life whether that be a hypothetical view during a viewing or the actual wedding.

What does a normal day look like for you?

Well…

  • 6.30 am my alarm goes off!

  • 7 am I have a coffee in bed for 30 minutes – I have a cheeky look at my emails to see what the working day entails!

  • 9 am – arrive at work. I make myself another coffee, have a smoothie and fill my HUGE 2L water bottle up (You will see the famous bottle on your wedding day! You can’t miss it!)

  • I will then proceed to answer any emails that may have come in overnight, potentially have a 1st viewing with a couple or an evening planning meeting with a couple who have already booked their wedding day with us.

  • My colleague Megan and I try and go on a 20-minute walk every day if not at least twice a week (Get us out of our seats to give us fresh minds for the afternoon!)

  • My working day tends to finish around 5 pm when I will drive home and by 5:30 pm I can almost guarantee you I will have a glass of wine (a small one!) in hand by 5:30 pm.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Although I am a Wedding and Events manager day to day, I love the fact that when we say we are a family-run business we truly are! We get involved in EVERYTHING right to the point of helping the owner with the harvest or the owner helping us with setting up our weddings. It makes my job so much fun!

What is your favourite part of a wedding day?

Going to collect the bride from the cottage or car and walking her into the venue. The last bit of girly time is so exciting. The adrenaline and nerves are so high – everyone is very excited. I love saying my closing line to the bride just before she becomes a Mrs ‘The next time I see you, you will be Mrs…’ The smile it brings to her face is unforgettable.

What is your favourite space/prop at The Granary Estates?

My favourite prop is probably the fire pit! I think it looks so beautiful in the evening and gives the courtyard a glow. It’s also quite sociable, I love watching guests in the evening wrapped up in the blankets having a giggle and catching up around the fire pit. It brings everyone together.

What is the most unique thing you have seen happen at an event/wedding at The Granary Estates?

  • A Gordon Ramsey look-a-like! He was amazing and so funny! The guests loved it as they entered the flint barn, they were greeted by Gordon Ramsey with a tray of champagne!

  • I’ve seen a buckeroo out in the courtyard! Having to help the bride get on to this in her dress was a laugh

  • Shot station as the table plan, each shot has the guest's name and table number on it, and they have to shoot it before they walk into the Granary Barn to get the party started!

  • Fizzy Issy cocktail! I loved this idea. A very personable cocktail made by the bride! It was pink prosecco and candy floss and if you dropped the candy floss in it got fizzy!!!

Describe your dream wedding day.

A winter wedding. I will be wearing a long-sleeved dress; my partner will be in a tux! Elegant, sophisticated and timeless with a boujee edge. Bridesmaids to potentially be in fitted suits, low-cut blazers, looking FABULOUS.

What trends do you think we are going to see coming in later into 2024 and 2025? (If you don’t have an answer for this it is ok!).

Big bows, whether that be in the bride's hair or on the dress I think this is going to be a huge thing and I’m here for it! Bigger the bow the better!

Embroidered personalised items. Whether that be the date of the wedding on the groom's shirt sleeve, their initials on the bottom of the bride's veil, or the date and initials on the napkins

Tik Tok sunglasses trend! I think this is going to be seen quite a lot as it’s fun a memorable.
